With the success of Pamela Anderson's new show,
Stacked (and if you haven't caught it yet, you should!), it's no wonder that Sony has gone back to one of Anderson's older shows and is prepping it for DVD. Especially as it has proven decently popular in TVShowsOnDVD's voting and even in Sony's own polls. Anderson (who also exec produces the show) stars as Vallery Irons, a hot dog stand worker who is attending a publicity event as a date with a hunky action show star one day, when danger threatens in the form of a gunman. While the big muscled actor ducks for cover, Val ducks in instead and saves the day. So a struggling bodyguard agency hires her and makes the new "celebrity bodyguard" the center of their business, renaming it the Vallery Irons Protection agency, or V.I.P. for short.
Anderson is joined by a lovely bunch of bodyguards such as model Molly Culver, ESPN2 exercise show host Natalie Raitano, Leah Lail and Angelle Brooks. Shaun Baker of
Living Single and Dustin Nguyen of
21 Jump Street are also on hand in this hot syndicated action series from 1998. Sony plans to unleash
V.I.P. - The Complete 1st Season on
March 14th. All 22 first-season episodes will be presented on 5 DVDs (972 minutes), with a $49.95 SRP.
Sony has also come up with several extras for this release! Look for two exclusive featurettes, audio commentaries, and a "factoid" track. The show will be presented on DVD in widescreen aspect ratio. We've got an early look at the box art for you, too:
