After the finish of the three-season run of
Upright Citizens Brigade ("UCB") on Comedy Central, the group (including Matt Besser, Amy Poehler of
Saturday Night Live, Ian Roberts, Horatio Sanz - who is also on
SNL - and Matt Walsh) continued with their show, returning to their on-stage improv roots with their "ASSSSCAT!" performances. It has been said online in places that Sanz coined the phrase ASSSSCAT during the first such show, blurting it out onstage, and then being joined by others repeating it. The show continues on a regular basis, with UCB theaters in New York and Los Angeles putting on improv performances (as well as
hosting SNL and 30 Rock shows during the writers' strike).
This past September
an Asssscat! Improv show aired on Bravo, including such guest stars as Tina Fey and Andy Richter. This particular feature doesn't appear to be on DVD, but a different ASSSSCAT-themed reunion feature -
filmed just for this release way back in March - is coming to DVD...NEXT March.

Upright Citizens Brigade - ASSSSCAT! on
March 25th, a 120-minute disc billed as "an unparalleled improv comedy juggernaut." According to the cover art, shown below, the leads are Besser, Poehler, Roberts and Matt Walsh, and guests include Will Arnett, Chad Carter, Sean Conroy, Andrew Daly, Ed Helms, Jen Kirkman, Tom Lennon, Horatio Sanz, Paul F. Tompkins and Kate Walsh. In addition you'll get these extras:
