Ultraman - The Original Ultraman Series Coming To DVD For 40th Anniversary, Rumors Say

Posted by David Lambert
1/01/2006

There have been quite a few Ultraman shows over the years, but they all sprung from the well of the original 1966-67 Japanese series that itself was a spin-off of the early '66 show Ultra Q. Originally shown on the Tokyo Broadcasting System, Ultraman flew at Mach 7 to the USA and gained quite a following here!

Some of our most reliable friends in the industry have passed along rumors that the original Ultraman series will make it on DVD in 2006, in time for the hero's 40th anniversary. Probably the entire series will make it out sooner or later, we think, which consisted of 40 episodes including the special which aired the week before the formal debut. We were not given any sort of timetable for this release, unfortunately, and we aren't even able to tell you what studio will be putting this out. But stay tuned, and we'll pass along more information just as soon as we get it.
