We have just a couple of quick updates for you
Twin Peaks fans who have been following the info about the upcoming
Definitive Gold Box Edition. As far as we know, the plan is still on for a release date of
October 30th, but don't forget that this date is still not officially announced by the studio, and is very subject to change. Now for the updates.
Readers of TVShowsOnDVD.com might have noticed that the artwork we first posted
back on 6/18 has now been removed throughout the site. As you can see by the new graphic's message, this past week we received a request from the studio to remove the artwork. To help you understand why we decided to comply, the politely worded request from the studio told us this:
"This e-mail is to notify you that the DVD assets that you downloaded...for "TWIN PEAKS: THE DIFINITIVE[sic] GOLD BOX EDITION" are incorrect. Please remove product shots from your website. New art will be available soon."
New artwork? Awesome. The fan reaction to the artwork we previously posted was mostly negative, and there are a lot of you out there who simply don't understand the "Gold" theme to it. We don't pretend to understand it, either. So any change at this point is apt to be a good one! However, if you still want to see the earlier artwork which we've taken down, it is to be found out there on other websites around the 'net. It shouldn't be too hard to find.
Speaking of other websites, we now come to our second update. One of the DVD producers for the
Twin Peaks - Definitive Gold Box Edition has gone on public record to say that some of the "facts" out there around the 'net about the DVD extras on this release - including information that TVShowsOnDVD relayed to our own readers in recent weeks - is "absolutely 100% wrong". The intent is to make sure that "news" posted about what will and won't be included among the bonus material is not taken as a fact, because the people passing it on simply got it wrong, he says. This is a well-known, well-respected DVD producer, who didn't want to say any more due to the unannounced, un-finalized nature of this release. For that reason, we're not reprinting this person's name here. Still, we felt the need to make you all aware that information passed on by us recently is, as he puts it, wrong.
The gossip on this title is fast and furious, because everybody is so desperate to get their hands on it! Stay tuned, and we'll keep you advised of any further developments.
