The 1985 version of
"The Twilight Zone" (a.k.a.
"The New Twilight Zone"), which grew out of the popularity generated by the 1983 theatrical film, featured some of the greatest writers of the time.
Names of great television writers and science fiction authors abound in the credits: Greg Bear, Steven Bochco, Ray Bradbury, Harlan Ellison, David Gerrold, Joe Haldeman, Stephen King, George R.R. Martin, Richard Matheson, Rod Serling, Robert Silverberg, J. Michael Straczynski, Theodore Sturgeon, and Roger Zelazny are just some of the names who wrote stories or teleplays which became episodes of this genre favorite.
Now the
Mondo Digital website reports in their "upcoming" list that this series is coming to DVD this year, in two parts:
JULY 2004
The Twilight Zone (Season One) (1980s Series) (Image)
OCTOBER 2004
The Twilight Zone (Seasons Two & Three) (1980s Series) (Image)
We contacted Image Entertainment tonight for a comment about this, but they didn't respond by our deadline tonight. Stay tuned, though, and we'll keep our third eye peeled for any available information about this.
