Boy, fans of The Twilight Zone sure ask a lot of questions! Image Entertainment is releasing 5 "Twilight Zone Collections," as a compilation of the existing Image DVDs, over the next several months. Potential customers are excited about this prospect; much more so than the release from "Another Universe" (which we have reported on previously
here and
here). But fans who have started to purchase some of the individual Image releases had questions about the new collections.
So we asked Image Entertainment for the answers, and - thanks to their responsiveness - have some of them for you right now:
1) A lot of people have asked about what type of case these would be in. The "40th Anniversary Gift Pack" came in "music" jewel cases rather than normal DVD Keepcases. Would this be repeated in these collections as well? Apparently not! Here is Image's exact answer:
The five TZ sets are packaged, like Image's "I Spy" sets, in thinner "slimline" Amaray cases--same height and width, though about 1/2 the depth, or thickness, of standard Amaray cases.
2) Are "Treasures of the Twilight Zone" and "More Treasures of the Twilight Zone" *definately* included in the Collection #5 release? To include EVERY episode of The Twilight Zone the 5 Image collections, it would be a necessary step.
"Treasures..." and "More Treasures..." will indeed be part of the 5th TZ set.
3) When is Collection #5 going to be available, and when can we have details about it?
Street date is 2/25/03. Image Entertainment's February 2003 new release information (will be available) in early December.
4) Will the "Rod Serling, Submitted for your Approval" disc, available in the 40th Anniversary Gift Pack release, be part of the Collection #5?
"Submitted for Your Approval" will not, though the title is currently available in the existing 40th Anniversary box set.
