A week ago we
reported that Showtime and Paramount Home Entertainment had officially scheduled the USA street date for
The Tudors - The Complete 3rd Season on DVD format. The
December 15th release didn't have package art available yet, but over this past weekend the studio began circulating it, and we've got a peek at that for you below.
The key graphic seen on the cover here is similar to some promo art which was used to advertise the season when it was airing on Showtime. In Canada, the show is released (on both
DVD and high-def
Blu-ray Disc formats) by Phase 4 Films. Their November 10th
Season 3 sets use an alternate version of the same key graphic (
seen here), zoomed in to give much more focus on King Henry VIII. Opinions have varied about which one each fan prefers, though.
Also different between the versions in each country are the bonus materials. We've already reported on extras for both the USA and Canadian releases, but we've learned that he 3-DVD set in the United States will have an additional item. Besides the exclusive "Tudors Timeline" featurette, and the first two episodes of Showtime series
The United States of Tara, there will also be Cast Interviews as well. Plan on accessing most (or possibly all) of the bonus material via the studio's "e-bridge" technology.
