The Tudors - The Complete 1st Season: Uncut Edition on Blu-ray and
The Tudors - The Complete 2nd Season: Uncut Edition on Blu-ray. The release date for these two, according to Amazon.CA's listings, has been pushed back two weeks, and will now be released on
November 25th. This only affects the DVD version; Peace Arch's DVD release in Canada for
The Tudors - The Complete 2nd Season: Uncut Edition is still coming out on November 11th.
State-side, though, Showtime/Paramount is waiting until December 30th to release the DVD version of
The Tudors - The Complete 2nd Season. Despite the absence of the word "uncut" in that title, the running time is still pretty much the same as the Canadian release. Why does Peace Arch say "uncut" then? That's in comparison to the Canadian broadcasts of the episodes, which are cut a bit because they are shown on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) general broadcast channel, rather than a cable-only channel.
We had
previously reported on extras for the USA release of the second season, but now we've gotten some more detailed info from the studio about that bonus material. The "bonus episodes of Showtime hits" will include the second season premieres of
This American Life and
Californication. The new info doesn't mention a bonus episode of
Dexter, which was in our previous early info, so perhaps something has changed there. The "exclusive special featurettes" turns out to be a featurette we were told is called "Descendents (of Henry) Tower of London." You can
pre-order it from Amazon, if you haven't done so yet.
Remarkably, cover art for the USA version hasn't been released so far, but stay tuned and we'll bring you that as soon as we can. In the meantime, here's another look at those Canadian packages:
