This past December we
reported that HBO's hot new vampire series was coming to DVD on May 12th with
True Blood - The Complete 1st Season. A couple of weeks later we
followed up with more info about that, and let you know that a high-definition Blu-ray Disc version was also in the works, possibly coming out on the same day as the DVD. A date that we mentioned was still subject to change...and it has, but only by a week!
HBO and distributor Warner Home Video have now officially announced
True Blood - The Complete 1st Season for a
May 19th street date on both
DVD and
Blu-ray. Each one will be a 5-disc set running 720 minutes, with Bonus Material yet to be details, but which will included a Documentary and Audio Commentary, plus other extras. Video will be widescreen, audio in English Dolby, but no further solid details are available yet on the specs. List prices are $59.99 SRP on the DVD, and $79.98 SRP on the Blu-ray, but both can be locked in at nice discounts using the Amazon links provided just above. Package art isn't final yet, but here is what Amazon is still showing:
