A few days ago we
reported that a new DVD release of
Tracey Takes On... is in the works, coming from Eagle Vision studios and distributed through Vivendi Entertainment. This is the same company combo which teamed up to release the first season of
Tracey Ullman's State of the Union last year; note that another season of that series is supposed to be in the works, by the way.
But back to
Tracey Takes On..., whose new release we first found out about via
an Amazon pre-order listing that gave no indication about what would be on the 4-disc set. Would this be a re-hash of the already-released first and second seasons (which HBO put out in 2004-05)? Or would it be unreleased episodes from the later seasons?
One of our readers, "Al" (whose help we certainly appreciate) was in touch with Eagle Vision/Vivendi, and was able to demonstrate to us that the new set, coming out on
July 14th, will in fact be
Tracey Takes On... - The Complete Seasons 3 and 4. From the information he was able to provide, it seems like this set will finish out the series on DVD, providing the remaining two episodes (in addition to never-before seen bonus material, which is apparently still being finalized).
