In 2005 and 2006, HBO Home Video released the
1st Season and
2nd Season DVD sets for Tracey Ullman's
Tracey Takes On... series. Since then it's been quiet, but now we've seen
a new Amazon listing to pre-order a
July 14th Tracey Takes On... DVD set, shown to be a 4-disc collection running 366 minutes, and costing $26.99 SRP (Amazon's discounting from there, of course). The only other info present is that this title is being brought to retailers by distributor Vivendi Entertainment. But Vivendi doesn't actually make these DVDs, so we dug into it with our industry resources to find out who was, and what the actual content might be...Amazon's listing doesn't give a subtitle to tell us if this is another season set, or a best-of, or what.
Here's what we found out: this is coming from Eagle Vision (the same studio
releasing Blood Ties). That, for this material (whatever it turns out to be), "
Guest Stars include: Hugh Laurie, Tobey Maguire, Giovanni Ribisi, Jon Favreau, Carlos Mencia, Dan Futterman, and Danny Woodburn"...it's interesting to note that these are all guests from Season 1. It's possible, though, that this is a sample of guests pertaining to the show itself, not this particular home video release. Our source also tells us that the Bonus Features on this set are "
3 segments of never-before-seen material based on a particular character (Un-Aired Material)."
