Fans of
The Toxic Crusaders animated series have had a long wait to get the entire series put on on DVD. First Troma put out an August 2004 DVD that was
a "movie" release of the first four episodes edited together. Then, in January 2005, Troma issued
a separate 4-episode DVD with those same 4 episodes, but broken up into the individual cartoons as they were originally broadcast. That release was labeled "Volume 1," but was never followed up with any further volumes. Nor did a previously-rumored "complete series" release of the cartoon ever happen.
But now Troma, through distributor Koch Entertainment, is releasing all 13 episodes of the
Toxic Crusaders animated series as a collection, for the first time ever, along with all four installments of the film series that the cartoon was spun off of. Those items, together with a special behind-the-scenes look at the fourth film, are coming all in one 7-DVD package on
September 5th.
The Complete Toxic Avenger box set will go for $59.98 SRP, but
Amazon is pre-selling it for $44.99 at the moment. Here's the cover art:
