Earlier this year
it was announced that PBS and DLT Entertainment would team up to produce a pair of reunion specials for
As Time Goes By. These brought Judi Dench and Geoffrey Palmer back together with other members of the beloved cast of the long-running BBC program. However, since PBS (rather than the BBC) produced these specials, the DVD rights fell to PBS, which means that Paramount Home Entertainment (not Warner) would be releasing these on home video.
Well, it got by us, but
January 3rd (just a bit over a week away!) marks the release of the single-disc release
As Time Goes By - The Reunion Specials. For the $29.95 SRP, you'll get 120 minutes of Jean and Lionel hoping desperately for grandchildren from either Judy and Alistair or Sandy and Harry. If that seems like a bit much of a list price, then worry not...you can
pre-order this from Amazon for $20.99. Our thanks to reader Meira Fried for the reminder that this is coming (Meira mentions that it's also already available directly from PBS for the past couple of weeks). Here's the cover art, courtesy of Amazon:
