Not long ago we
broke the news about the extras on
Three's Company - Season 6, which is coming to DVD on
March 7th. One of the extras confused fans quite a bit: "Laughs Around The World: Episode In Polish." That was the wording on the back of the box which we displayed in that story. Well, if you take a good solid look at the pictures on that rear cover art, it's not hard to notice that "Janet" (Joyce DeWitt) is composited into the picture there twice. So this is surely not final artwork, and it seems the wording on the extra was a bit premature as well.
Pavan Badal of SitcomsOnline.com is also the webmaster of a
Three's Company fansite called "Jack's Bistro." Accordingly, Pavan's dug up some info about that extra. He tells us this:
"Laughs Around the World" is NOT an episode in Polish. It is an 8 minute or so featurette introduced by George Sunga. He details the worldwide popularity of the show and new versions of the show are being produced
internationally using the original scripts. In Poland, they have their own Three's Company with their own actors (but the same scripts are used). This
featurette shows bits of the episode "Paradise Lost" in Polish, interlaced with the US version.
Thanks, Pavan! That explains a lot. But Pavan's info didn't end there. He also has some word about the next release of
Three's Company on DVD. He tells us to expect the 7th season on
July 25th, according to his sources. He also thinks we'll have the eighth and final season in time for the USA Thanksgiving holiday (late November). Sounds good, and we should all keep letting Anchor Bay know that we want
Three's A Crowd and
The Ropers, too. Stay tuned for more updates and developments.
