The other day we
posted a story about the 1957 Lee Marvin series
M Squad, and how Timeless Media is planning on a DVD release for the show, but has been missing 17 episodes from the show's run. We were helping Timeless appeal to fans, asking if any had the missing episodes and could contact us about them.
Response to that has been VERY good, we're pleased to say, and we wouldn't at all be surprised to see the
M Squad box set get upgraded shortly, once the studio makes arrangements to get their hands on what's been offered to them. With that in mind, Timeless Media has asked us to also inquire about another show from the same era: 1958's Rory Calhoun series,
The Texan.
This show was produced by Desilu (the Lucille Ball/Desi Arnaz company behind
I Love Lucy, yes,
Star Trek, Mission: Impossible, Hogan's Heroes and
The Andy Griffith Show), and aired on CBS Monday nights as the lead-in to such huge, popular sitcoms as
Father Knows Best and
The Danny Thomas Show (a.k.a.
Make Room For Daddy). There were almost eighty episodes of
The Texan made in that 2-season run!
5 of those episodes are missing, and needed, and Timeless would like to include these if at all possible. Timeless has exhausted all their options in searching for these episodes, and the only copies they've come across were unwatchable. Hopefully someone reading this news will have a copy of the episodes (in any format), and can
contact us so we can put them in touch with Timeless. Here are the ones needed, all from the second season:
- Season 2:
- "The Reluctant Bridegroom" EPISODE #10
- "Rough Track to Payday" EPISODE #16
- "Borrowed Time" EPISODE #26
- "Ruthless Woman" EPISODE #31
- "The Accuser" EPISODE #38
Hopefully somebody out there reading this can help; the sooner the better, please. Gord is coordinating this effort with Timeless Media, so please direct your e-mails to him. Thank you very much! Stay tuned and we'll let you know the results when Timeless formally announces this release, and provides us with details, pricing, date and cover art.
