Tess of the D'Urbervilles (mini-series) - Quantum of Solace Co-Star is Featured in the Title Role of the 2008 BBC Production

2-disc set announced for release on January 13th

Posted by David Lambert
A passionate, sensual and very modern version of Thomas Hardy's infamous novel, combining young, upcoming acting talent with recognisable and much-loved faces. When the beautiful and innocent Tess Durbeyfield is driven by family poverty to claim kinship with the wealthy D'Urbervilles and seek a portion of their family fortune, meeting the manipulative Alec proves to be her downfall.
Warner Home Video and BBC Video have announced the DVD release of the 4-part 2008 mini-series Tess of the D'Urbervilles, starring Gemma Arterton, who plays "Agent Fields" in the upcoming James Bond 007 film, Quantum of Solace. The production also stars Eddie Redmayne (The Other Boleyn Girl), Hans Matheson (The Tudors), Ruth Jones (Little Britain) and Christopher Fairbank (The Fifth Element, AlienĀ³). The 2-disc set will arrive on January 13th. Video is anamorphic widescreen, and the soundtrack is in English. Here's a lovely look at the package art, featuring Arterton as Tess:
