That's right, Turtle Power has prevailed over the evil volumes, and now Lionsgate is switching to season sets with the announcement that season 4 will be released on
March 13, 2007. The 5 disc set will include 40 episodes (920 mins), supposedly from season 4, but there's some confusion as to which episodes they're including. The
official TMNT website lists "Plan 6 from Outer Space" as the first episode of season 4, but that was released on volume 6, and they only list a total of 39 episodes for season 4, leaving the set with 38 episodes, unless they're taking a couple from season 5. Either way, this release is better than the 12 episode volumes we've been getting until now.
The suggested retail price is $39.98, but
DVDEmpire is preselling it for $29.56. Check out the box art for season 4 - looks like it'll be a molded turtle head:
