Fans have been wondering when Lionsgate will be coming out with the 7th Season DVD release for the original '80s cartoon,
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. After all, the last time the pizza-lovin' hard-shell reptiles have been seen on disc in their classic version was with the 6th season set this past April...eight months after the 5th season set arrived, which itself was five months after the 4th season set's release. It's clear that the next collection won't be out before the end of this year, which means it's taking longer than eight months this time. When will we see it?
Well, next year, obviously...just in time to celebrate the 25th anniversary of
TMNT. When will the DVD specifically hit, though? Industry sources, speaking on condition of remaining anonymous, have let us know that Lionsgate has penciled in a release date for
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Season 7 of
March 10th. This is preliminary and subject to change, but right now that's what the plans are. Episode guides (such as the one
at TV.com) show that there were 27 episodes aired during this season, making it longer than the one before or after. We're not sure yet whether Lionsgate will make this a single all-inclusive release, or try to split things up somehow. And neither pricing nor cover art are available yet, either. But stay tuned, and we'll fill you in further as developments occur!
