DVDEmpire.com has listed a
Sept. 28 release of
Tales from the Cryptkeeper - Stacks of Fear from Funimation. Other than showing a list price of $12.98 (their pre-order price is currently just $9.22!), they have no other information yet about this release.
This series has been seen years ago on VHS, but never before on DVD. If you recall,
Tales from the Cryptkeeper was the animated ABC Saturday morning spin-off version of the live-action HBO anthology terror series,
Tales from the Crypt. The cartoon version lasted a couple of seasons at ABC, then disappeared for a few years before having one final season on CBS as
The New Tales from the Cryptkeeper (information courtesy of
TVTome.com). The live-action series had enough popularity to not only get this kid-friendly cartoon version, but also an even darker version showed up in theaters for a pair of films. By the way, those films are being issued on DVD for the third time on Sept. 7th, by way of the
Cryptkeeper's Deadly Duo Pack from Universal.
