TV Funhouse - SNL Spin-Off from Comedy Central comes to DVD Robert Smigel's Show Comes Home on December 18th

Paramount Home Entertainment has announced the DVD release of Comedy Central's TV Funhouse. The show was spun off from Saturday Night Live, under Robert Smigel's watchful eye. You know Smigel from "Triumph the Insult Comic Dog". Triumph was one of the Anipals that showed up on these episodes, along with host Doug Dale, for these episodes: Western Day Hawaiian Day Christmas Episode Mexicans Day Caveman Day Safari Day Astronaut Day Chinese New Year's Day Between the theme of the day and the various parody cartoons, you would also see guest stars like Sally Jessy Raphael, "Smokin' "Joe Frazier, Robert Goulet, Hootie and the Blowfish, Rick Nielsen, Joe Walsh, Bob Odenkirk, George Wendt and the late John Ritter in these episodes from 2000-01. We're not sure if Comedy Central and Paramount are issuing all 8 half-hour episodes on this disc, or if this is a best-of type of release. We sure hope it's the whole enchilada! For fans, it would certainly make a good companion to Universal's 2006 DVD release of Saturday Night Live - The Best of Saturday TV Funhouse (if you don't have that one yet, you can find ordering links here).
