In early October we
reported on the finalized bonus material for CBS/Paramount's
December 9th DVD release of
Swingtown - The 1st Season. Now the studio has released a look at the rear cover art for this package, confirming that info. We've also looked up and down the back of the box as thoroughly as possible, and something fans have been concerned about - whether the box would have a disclaimer about music changes - doesn't seem to be there. So it seems like all the originally broadcast music is likely to be there! We're down with that.
On the other hand, there is a disclaimer near the bottom saying that "Some episodes may be edited from their original network versions." As we've
noted in the past, though, that wording seems to be CBS/Paramount's now-standard notation on almost every one of their TV-DVD releases, apparently for just in case a fan spots something that's not a hundred percent identical to the original broadcast. So it's difficult to know in advance whether one of the DVD releases labeled with this particular disclaimer actually has any changes to be found in it!
It's also worth noting that Amazon's pre-order listing (see button link below) continues to show that
Swingtown - The 1st Season will be out on Dec. 16th, but the official release date per CBS/Paramount is December 9th. We've let Amazon know, so they can hopefully get their listing adjusted quickly. Now, here's that rear cover art:
