October 31st. As you can see while looking it over, there are some extras in the form of "bonus episodes." What is that about? Well, you may recall that back in June
we reported on rumors of "missing episodes" from the second set: four or five episodes of the show that might have had to be dropped for reasons beyond Shout!'s control.
While those reasons still aren't available, the fact is that Shout! fought hard to get these episodes included in this DVD set, and therefore they ARE included as "bonus episodes." However, in order to provide them at all, the live-action framing sequences that bookend the episodes had to be left off. That's regretable, but we're glad Shout! provided as much of the episodes as they could (a much better choice than leaving them off entirely). Here's the cover art, courtesy of the

The Super Mario Brothers Super Show!-Volume 2. The second installment of the collector's set includes 24 episodes of the animated adventures of The Super Mario Brothers from the hit television series on a 4-DVD box set. The Super Mario Brothers are a nostalgic cult favorite of fans around the world and the Nintendo video game continues to be popular with kids of every age. From 1989 - 1991, the series had every kid in America glued to the television to await the next animated Mushroom Kingdom escapade, while the live-action segments explore life with Brooklyn's best plumbers, Mario and Luigi.
The Super Mario Brothers Super Show! Volume 2 DVD will be available for a suggested retail price of $29.98.
Based on the original hit Nintendo video game, the series connects top-notch animated adventures with unique live-action interstitials starring WWF wrestling star Captain Lou Albano (
Wise Guys and
WWF Wrestlemania) and Danny Wells (
