According to several e-mails we've gotten, word is going around on a couple of message boards that the upcoming
Super Mario Bros. Super Show! - Volume 2 DVD set - which we've
reported will be a 4-disc, $29.95 SRP set on
October 31st - may not have all of the episodes that it is supposed to. We got in touch with an insider at Shout! Factory and asked how accurate this was, and we were told (on condition of anonymity) that there IS an element of truth to these rumors. But it's not for-sure yet that episodes will have to be left off.
Our insider source tells us that it's unclear how many episodes will be left off this set, IF ANY. Shout is doing everything in their power to keep them all, but due to reasons beyond their control, four or five episodes may have to be dropped. The message from our source is that fans should not think Shout is ignoring them or trying to pull a fast one. There are simply factors that may be unavoidable. Shout! does not want to specify what the issues are at this time, and while we are aware of where the rumors are posted online, TVShowsOnDVD is not going to link to them because they do not necessarily contain correct information. TVShowsOnDVD has offered their help to Shout! to be of any possible assistance that we can in this matter though, and they are considering how or if they can make use of that offer. Stay tuned.
Fans WILL be pleased to note, though, that there are a few new bonus features that we think are really going to be
cool, though. So there is most certainly an upside to this set! Shout! is still finalizing the details on those, and so just hang on to your plungers and stick around. We'll be back with more info about all of this just as soon as we can!
