Various sources, including
Video Business online,
Home Media Retailing online and
Zap2It.com, are reporting that the NetFlix online DVD renting service has scored a coupe with a pair of upcoming TV shows, making the pilots of these two new series available on DVD weeks prior to their network debut!
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, starring Matthew Perry (
Friends), Steven Weber (
Wings), and D.L. Hughley (
The Hughleys) is one of the two shows involved. The other is
Kidnapped, starring Timothy Hutton (
Turk 182) and Dana Delany (
China Beach).
The pilot episodes of both upcoming NBC shows will be put together on a single DVD, that NetFlix will make available to its renters starting on
Saturday, August 5th. That disc is a NetFlix exclusive, mind you, and not available to buy in stores. The availability begins about 6 weeks prior to the debut of either show on television!
So head on over to NetFlix.com starting on 8/5, and put that item in your queue. Once it reaches the top, you'll get it and be able to take a look at these shows before the rest of the world gets to watch 'em.
