Yesterday there was
an interesting update posted to the
Steve Canyon DVD Blog website, which is the place to go and purchase releases of this classic 1958 NBC series. The blog describes how siterunner John Ellis and others (including TV archivist Peter Greenwood, whose name you may have
heard before in connection with other classic shows) went to interview somebody, and that pieces of this interview will be used as bonus material on the
Spring 2010 release of
Steve Canyon - The Complete TV Series, Volume 3.
The person who was interviewed was none other than Arthur Marks, who directed
Steve Canyon episodes "Operation Intercept," "The Muller Story" and "The Korean Story" (all three of which will be on this next, and final, DVD release). Ellis also says in his post that, "
Following our video interview we recorded audio commentary for all three of his Steve Canyon episodes...marvelous facts and details emerged that we are sure that fans of the series will certainly enjoy as bonus materials" (on
Volume 3). There's even a YouTube video there with sample commentary track from "The Muller Story," so be sure to head over there and check it out!
Ellis says there are more extras to be recorded, too: "
Next on the flight line is Dean Hess, who besides being a Korean War hero was the USAF Official Liaison to the Steve Canyon TV series!" It sounds like this will be another amazing release, so be sure to reserve your copy today. If you prefer to purchase through Amazon, a couple of the already-out titles
are available there. In case you missed it, here's another look at the front cover for the upcoming
Steve Canyon - The Complete TV Series, Volume 3:
