When we
first told you a year ago about Paramount's plans for a series of "Fan Collective"
Star Trek sets, we knew that there were 4 themes that they wanted to begin with: Borg, Time Travel, Q, and The Klingons. The first two are now out, and
the Q set is on the way for June 6th.
Now one of our readers, who declined to be named, has spotted something that noone else has let us know about, and which we overlooked ourselves.
A StarTrek.com story dated Feb. 10th has a tiny mention almost at the bottom of the 4th Fan Collective set:
...the "Klingon" set arrives 8/1/06
Further down there's also a mention of a November date for the same release, but that refers to Region 2 (Europe).
August 1st seems to be the release date in North America, which makes sense given the timing of the previous three releases. We imagine you'll mainly find episodes from the original show,
TNG and
Deep Space Nine, as those had the episodes most associated with the history and lore of this mighty warrior race (but it's up to the episodes fans voted for, and there were a couple of significant Klingon eps in the other shows). The studio hasn't given any formal info or details about this yet, but stay tuned because we'll have to tell you all about it just as soon as we can...it's a matter of honor!
