Tomorrow's the big day when
Star Trek - Season 1 on a 10-disc HD DVD/DVD hyrbrid set arrives in stores. With fans priming the dilithium crystals for that trek to the store, we wanted to set our long-range scanners to find out what's going on with the next release, which is the remastered
Star Trek - Season 2 episodes on an HD DVD/DVD hyrbrid package.
It's been over a month since we
passed along rumors to expect the next release in the Mid-March to Early April timeframe. Now we've heard from retailers that Paramount Home Entertainment is setting an exact release date of
March 25th. Bonus material is getting ready for this new collection, and will include more Billy Blackburn's own behind-the-scenes home movie footage shot while he was a regularly-hired "Extra" on the set of the original
Star Trek. In fact, longtime regular reader John Tenuto and his family Mary Jo and Nicky were at a special screening of "The Menagerie" last week, and saw a sneak peek of this upcoming set. He says it was a great video; our thanks to him for the contribution.
Don't forget, though, that this is pre-announcement information, and is always subject to change. Stay tuned and we'll keep you informed with further developments, as we get them!
