Last week we had
the exclusive first look at package art for
Star Trek - Season 2: Remastered DVD Edition. This 8-disc set comes in a package designed to look consistent with the look of
the Season 1 HD DVD/DVD Combo set, which came out last November. The new, Season 2 set (for DVD only) achieves warp speed on
August 5th.
This afternoon CBS DVD and Paramount Home Entertainment released pictures of this packaging to all retailers and press agents, and the 2-D picture (the same one we posted last week) is available in even higher resolution now. Also available is a 3-D look at the package, in the same high-res clarity. We've got a look at them for you below.
Also included at the very bottom is a new three-page trade ad (the bottom shows the two-page spread, and the angled page just above shows the lead-in from the previous page) that CBS DVD posted in the brand new issue of
Video Business magazine. The ad, which pictures this release among other items, touts to retailers how they should stock the CBS TV-DVD releases to increase sales, because these are "put on a pedestal" with "
pristine picture and audio presentations, new special features, rare bonus materials and special packaging".
