Depending on whether or not you think the $217.99 SRP is worth it, you may be one of the fans excited about the upcoming
November 20th release of
Star Trek - Season 1 as an "HD DVD & DVD Hybrid" collection of 10 discs. We know some of you are upset about that price point, and otherwise would be interested in getting this. If it helps,
Amazon is currently pre-selling this for a pretty nice discounted cost of $138.95; that's more than a third off the list price the studio put in their press release! And there's free shipping available, too. If you have an HD DVD player, jump on it while the price is that low. Hey, if you plan to buy an HD DVD player at some point, go ahead and jump on it...you can still watch the standard DVD side of the discs while you're waiting for the upgraded hardware!
In our
previous reports about this release, we've shown off three different early shots of the packaging, both inside and out. Now Paramount has released two new shots of the package. While it looks the box is unchanged from the design seen in the early shots, this does provide a pair of new looks at the exterior and interior of the set. So we wanted to share it with all of you, of course!
