We've been hearing more rumblings about
Enterprise sets in the past few weeks, but we were asked to hold off on posting anything by the studio as an official announcement should be coming soon. We've decided to go ahead and post what we know since information is turning up elsewhere, and we don't want to appear behind.
Paramount is readying
Enterprise for release in early 2005, though we don't know how many sets they plan to release next year. This is the first time we'll see season sets for a
Star Trek show that's currently in production. The show has always aired in widescreen, so there's no doubt the DVDs will feature an anamorphic widescreen picture, along with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. Thanks to reader Tom Bunker, we also know that there will be extras (not a surprise) on the sets; a recent
StarTrek.com production report mentions:
Most notably, though, was Toolbox Production's Don Beck - the producer of special features for most of the Star Trek DVDs - who was on set with a camera crew to conduct interviews and shoot behind-the-scenes footage for a future Star Trek: Enterprise DVD set.
Don't forget that we may see
Star Trek: Animated releases in 2005 as well.
