A few minutes ago we
posted news about Pamela Anderson's old show,
V.I.P., coming to DVD in a couple of months thanks to the success of her recent show,
Stacked. Anderson's not the only one so blessed! Natasha Henstridge has been getting good nods for her relatively minor (yet key in oh-so-many-ways) role in the new Geena Davis series
Commander In Chief. Henstridge first came to our attention when she became an "overnight" success with 1995's film
Species, and reprised that role in the 1998 sequel. She struck a different nerve in the 2000 film
The Whole Nine Yards, starring Matthew Perry (
Friends) and Bruce Willis (
Moonlighting). Then in 2002 came to TV for the first time in MGM's syndicated (after NBC aired three episodes and passed) series
She Spies.
Henstridge is joined by Kristen Miller and Natashia Williams as three convicts who are let out by the same government that locked them away on the condition that they go to work for the Feds as undercover agents, each using their unique talents to take on the slime that threatens the world. The series lasted for two seasons, each with 20 episodes. And Sony-MGM is bringing out
She Spies - The Complete 1st Season on
March 14th, the same date as
V.I.P. (two shows with similar appeal).
Look for full-screen presentations of 20 hour-long episodes. They'll come on 4 DVDs, packed in two "slimline" dual-disc plastic cases that slide into a slipcover (the same packaging as Sony's
Fantasy Island release). Running time is about 1000 minutes. There are no extras planned for this release other than "bonus previews". The set will sell for $39.95 SRP. Here's the cover art (still subject to change, but it probably won't):
