Back in February we first
told you that
Spider-Man: The Venom Saga was coming to DVD as the 5th release from the 1994 animated series. Now we have cover art supplied to us by one of our retail contacts last weekend, and here it finally is (sorry for the delay in bringing it to you):
Not bad, but if you want an even better shot that includes a portion of the disc art, then you might want to click
this link and check out the version that DVDToons.com posted. Thanks to regular reader and contributor Walt Davis for letting us know about that!
But we wouldn't leave you hanging with just that much, would we? Absotively not, because we have a few screen shots of this for you, captured from the sneak peek trailer that was included on the
Power Rangers Dino Thunder Vol. 1 DVD release a couple of weeks ago:
As you can see, "Winter 2004" is when you can expect to see this hit store shelves. November would be our guess, to tie in with the DVD release of the
Spider-Man 2 film. A bit of trivia for you: the speaking part of Venom was voiced by none other than Hank Azaria of
The Simpsons! This DVD ought to contain all 5 appearences of Spidey's unearthly alter-ego: "The Alien Costume" 3-part saga from the first season, plus "Venom Returns" and "Carnage" from the third season, in the middle of the "Sins of the Fathers" storyline.
What supplements will appear on this release? Will a bonus '67 episode appear as usual? Is Stan Lee still involved? We don't know yet...Buena Vista hasn't announced these things yet, so we'll have to wait and find out. Stay tuned, though, and we'll let you know more about
The Venom Saga as soon as we can!
