Way back in early December we
broke the news that Lionsgate is prepping a DVD release for
Speed Racer: The Next Generation - Comet Run, based on the 3-part story that was broadcast on NickToons this past Fall. Now the studio has finalized their plans and officially announced the release. We originally told you to expect it on May 5th, but Lionsgate has moved that back just a bit, and expects it to street on
May 19th.
This single-disc release running 63 minutes won't have any extras other than a "trailers gallery," but it will come with a bonus pack-in Mach 6 toy car. Video is full frame, audio is English 5.1, and subtitles are in English and Spanish. It's also closed captioned for the hearing impaired. Cost is $14.98 SRP. Speed Racer The Next Generation: Comet Run marks the third film for The Next Generation which builds on the legendary adventures of the original iconic series. It's a challenge too cool to pass up!
