A week ago today we
let you know that Sony is preparing
March 17th DVD releases for both
Spectacular Spider-Man - Volume 2: Rise of the Super-Villains! and
The Spectacular Spider-Man - Volume 3: The Goblin Strikes!. Each separate title is a full length animated adventure, running 69 minutes per disc (corrected from "90" in the previous report) created from episodes of the popular kids show that airs on The CW:
Volume 2 is based on the stories "Market Forces," "Competition" and "The Invisible Hand";
Volume 3 is based on the stories "Catalyst," "Reaction" and "The Uncertainty Principle". Last week we had an early look at the
Volume 2 package art. This morning we have a Sony-issued trade ad which shows off the same art (albeit with the subtitle only saying "Volume 2", instead of saying "Rise of the Super-Villians" as the previous version did) along with a first look at the art for the 3rd Volume DVD. Both are marked as being artwork that is still subject to change, but here's what we've got so far!
