The Spectacular Spider-Man Animated movies are based on the new KidsWB TV series! This action-packed animated series focuses on the web slinger's teenage years. Peter Parker must conceal his secret identity while confronting the pressures of teenage life and bigger, badder super-villans!
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be bringing out some DVDs taken from the new KidsWB Saturday morning series
The Spectacular Spider-Man, starring the voices of Josh Keaton (
The Secret World of Alex Mack), Joshua LeBar (
Entourage) and Lacey Chabert (
Party of Five). Each DVD release will take 3 episodes from the new program, and edit them together seamlessly into one stand-alone story.
The first release will arrive on
September 9th, and be titled
The Spectacular Spider-Man - Attack of the Lizard. Running time is 70 minutes, and there's word that they are trying to include a bonus extended version of a music video as an extra (could be subject to change, though). The cost of this release will be $19.94 SRP. Cover art isn't available yet, but stay tuned and we'll bring you that, and any further updates we find out about, as soon as possible. Stay tuned!
P.S. - Yes, yes: for those of you writing in, we HAVE seen that show producer Greg Weisman said in an interview that season sets would eventually be released...but Sony has not announced nor even confirmed this info yet. Stay tuned on that front as well.
