Earlier this month we
brought you MGM/Fox's press release for
Spaceballs - The Totally-Warped Adventures on DVD. This release of the animated television spin-off of the popular Mel Brooks film was scheduled to arrive in stores on June 16th, the same day as
a Blu-ray release of the movie. The Schwartz is with you, fans, for the high-def release of the theatrical film; it's still on.
But apparently Dark Helmet has successfully sabotaged the street date for a collection of the cartoon series. We've been informed by our industry contacts that MGM/Fox has removed the DVD for the animated TV series from their June release schedule. Never fear, though: we're told that it is simply postponed until a later date, which is yet to be determined. So we'll be seeing it in the future. Stay tuned and we'll tell you when, as soon as the studio finalizes their new plans for that title.
