A poster at the discussion forum on DVDFile.com by the name of "JFelix" is reporting what he calls "An OFFICIAL 'Space Ghost Coast 2 Coast' DVD Announcement?!," seemingly broadcast directly on The Cartoon Network:
This seems official enough, right before 'Sealab 2021' this text (Well, I can't exact quote it...) appeared on screen:
We have edited down SGC2C episodes to 11 minutes to accomidate(sic) the Williams Street hour. There will be DVDs out in the fall containing the fully uncut versions. Or not. Who the hell knows?
...Plus they just announced on the Adult Swim bumper that there are 6 new episodes in production
Christian Malta has written to us with essentially the same information, so JFelix's info seems to be on the level. TVShowsOnDVD.com doesn't otherwise have a ready way to verify if this text did in fact appear on The Cartoon Network, so please think of it as a rumor for now. After all, the reported text itself says that DVDs may or may not happen.
If you would like to keep up with this thread and any further news it may bring, be warned that it contains R-rated adult language, but it can be found among the discussion threads listed
here.
Thanks to Kon at
the Home Theater Forum, we now have the full
text of the message that The Cartoon Network put on the air:
We have now edited many of the older C2C's to eleven minutes. So that
we can fit them into the Williams Street hour. We don't know quite why we
made them so long in the first place. We were new to television. But now the
old versions are gone. Toast. However, Erik in Consumer Products tells us
they will release DVDs in the fall. And the long versions will be on the
DVDs. But who the hell knows.
