Following the end of
ER, NBC began airing
Southland, a series from John Wells Productions and created by Ann Biderman (who won an Emmy in the early '90s for writing on
NYPD Blue). The first season of this new character-driven police drama lasted only 7 episodes, but drew a lot of attention in that short amount of time. As the show warms up to a planned October 23rd debut of its second season, fans have been wondering where the Season 1 DVD set is at?
This past Saturday we got our answer, from
a Twitter post under the name of Michael Cudlitz. Cudlitz plays "Officer John Cooper" on the show, who is the veteran patrolman training rookie cop "Ben Sherman." The tweet by @Cudlitz keeps it short and simple: "
Southland ................ Season One (7 episodes) DVD due out early 2010 !!"
Please keep in mind that this info has not been confirmed by the studio, so we should file it under "rumors" for now. Still, it's great to have any kind of a handle on this, as it showed great promise and many of us can't wait to see more. Our thanks to readers Don Jariyasunant and "Adam" for e-mailing us about the post on Twitter. Stay tuned for updates!
