South Park - South Park commentary info

When we added a listing to the site for "South Park: Season One," we received information that the set would contain commentary for all 13 episodes by Matt Stone and Trey Parker. A few weeks ago we received email from Warner Home Video telling us that there weren't commentary tracks on the release so we removed them from our listing. We didn't think much of it since sometimes the information we receive is incorrect, or changes at the last minute. It turns out that there were commentary tracks recorded for the set, but they weren't included because Warner Brothers wanted to edit them and Matt and Trey wouldn't allow them. The compromise is this: if you buy the "South Park: Season One" set you can mail away for the 5 CD commentary track set for a small shipping and handling fee. You can also order the set directly from Comedy Central with the CDs. Although it's not the ideal situation, I think it's great that the commentary tracks will be made available. I wonder if we'll see more of this in the future? Studios may not include commentary tracks on some releases, but directors, producers, creators, maybe even actors would be free to sell CD commentaries separately.
