Earlier this year Time-Life
announced a 9-DVD set with
The Best of Soul Train, bringing fans many of the greatest moments and performances of the shows long run. At the time it was only available directly from Time-Life's online store, starting this past March 29th. But in August we brought you the studio's
press release about a 3-disc collection, a subset of the bigger package, available at general retail stores for a $39.99 SRP.
Now Amazon.com has added pre-order listings for
the 9-disc set at retail, showing a
February 15th ship date at a slightly lower list price ($119.99, thirty less than what Time-Life's online store has had it at). What's more, Amazon is currently discounting it by an additional 30%, down to the incredible price of $83.99 (Amazon's current discounted cost is per their own decision, and is subject to change without notice, at Amazon's discretion).
Furthermore, Amazon is also showing
a "Volume 2" disc available on
February 1st, at the low, low price of $14.98 SRP. We don't have the details about that, but right now it APPEARS to be one of the discs available in both the 9-DVD and 3-DVD sets, just available on it's own for budget-minded fans of the Don Cornelius-hosted show.
