Fans of
The Sopranos have been asking about the possibility of a complete series set ever since HBO released a set for
Six Feet Under, and while we assumed it would be out sometime after the series finale (which happened just over a week ago), the studio hasn't made any formal announcement, until yesterday.
Henry McGee, president of HBO Home Video, was on the "Presidents Panel" at "DVD and Beyond," an industry conference held in LA. Moderator TK Arnold mentioned the
Sex and the City and
Six Feet Under, which prompted McGee to respond with:
"Reserve lots of money for Christmas, 2008"
It was pretty clear he was talking about
The Sopranos set, but I caught up with him after the panel to verify it. So start saving now because it won't be a cheap set.
