This past May we
had the heads-up that HBO Video is planning an upcoming release of
The Sopranos - The Complete 1st Season on Blu-ray Disc. However, the studio had not - and still has not! - formally announced the title. Rather, it is available for pre-order at Amazon (using the above link), with no release date attached to the listing just yet.
Over 2 months since that report, HBO still hasn't given the title's schedule to U.S. retailers, and Amazon.com still hasn't provided a release date on their listing, either. But if you look up the same ASIN (Amazon Standard ID Number), "B0028RXXFM," at Amazon.ca (the Canadian branch), you will see that
this title's listing there shows a release date of Tuesday,
November 24th.
While it's possible that the USA and Canadian release dates COULD be different, the usual situation with HBO is that both countries get such a title on the same date. Almost always. So we're going with that as the general North American release date here, until and unless the studio (or distributor Warner Home Video announces otherwise. We're still waiting on package art for this package, too, along with other details. Stay tuned for updates!
