Sons & Daughters was the recent sitcom that mixed scripted and improv comedy together during it's single-season run of 11 episodes (one of them was never aired). Among the cast were Max Gail (
Barney Miller, D.C. Cab) and Dee Wallace-Stone (
The Howling, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial), but the star of the show was also its creator, Fred Goss.
During the show's run, Goss was blogging at ABC's website for the show, giving lots of great behind-the-scenes info. After the show was pulled from the schedule, he continued to blog right up until the time it was formally canceled.
In the third-from-last entry, though, Goss talks about the show's DVD opportunities:
Many of you want to know if a DVD package of the first season is coming out and I can promise you that it will be and it will have some great special features on it.
If you want to read the rest of that blog entry, or any other portion of the blog, we recommend you don't delay! Goss mentions correctly that, since the show is now officially off of ABC's schedule, the network can pull the plug on the website and blog at any time. In the meantime, Goss provides links to other websites to keep in touch with him and his future endeavors, and of course you can stay tuned here and we'll bring you news about the DVD release of
Sons & Daughters as soon as we get more information. Thanks to reader Joshua Laforge for e-mailing us with the link to the blog info.
