Back in February, we posted a
news item about DVDs from the Sonny & Cher TV series. Now we are six weeks past the April 14th target date mentioned in that news, so we asked Respond2 Entertainment for an update.
We were told that they are now looking at an August or September timeframe for release, but no specifics were mentioned describing what the delay was. It was said that this 3-disc set is to be called the "Ultimate Collection," and that they are still planning to sell it via infomercials that would start up in the late summer, after the set is done. However, they hope to have a normal retail release around the first part of next year.
They are planning to redesign the website at
SonnyAndCher.com (currently run by Paul Brownstein Productions' TVClassics.com for VHS sales of the show) in order to support the DVD release. Keep an eye on that web address starting in late August.
