our October 26th report about Warner's formal announcement of
The Smurfs - Season 1, Volume 1, we showed you the front and rear package art which we had at the time. The rear cover art, we noted, was from prior to that official announcement. As we mentioned, we had informed the studio that the text on the rear made reference to the syndicated show title "
Smurfs' Adventures," instead of the original title
The Smurfs. Some of you, our readers, feared that this error on the cover meant that the DVDs might contain the syndicated title screen versions of the cartoons, instead of the original broadcast version title screens.
Warner has assured us that there is no reason to worry about that. It *will* be called
The Smurfs on the opening credits for these DVDs. This was only an error on the early draft of the rear box art. They have since changed it, and thanked us for checking about it. Now we have gotten a look at the revised back of the box. Here it is with the correction:
