It's been a few months since we
posted the news that
Smallville season 5 would be released on HD-DVD, but now we have some details on the set.
The 5 disc set (yup, 5 HD-DVDs) will be released on
November 28 (please note, this was corrected after the article was posted) for $79.98 - $20 more than the DVD version. The set will contain all the bonus material from the regular DVD version, but there's some exclusive HD-DVD content as well. The season opener, "Arrival" will feature an in-program experience - the special effects artists explain how they created the special effects - all shown in a window while you watch the episode. This release also features something most people haven't experienced while watching
Smallville - Dolby Digital 5.1 (which the Canadian pilot disc had). All the episodes will be 1080p, which will bring you an amazing picture to match the 5.1 audio. It sounds great!
