Has it already been a month and a half since we first filled you in about the coming of Sliders to DVD? We certainly haven't had anything else to pass on to you...until now, that is!

The official title is a mouthful: Sliders - The 1st and 2nd Seasons Dual-Dimension Edition. Universal describes it as "a mind-blowing 6-DVD collection, in the collectible package of the year." The studio hasn't provided an official shot to the press of that package yet, but we managed to get our hands on an early concept picture of what they are wanting to do:

The final version might not look exactly like that, but you get the idea. The street date remains what we said previously: August 3rd, and the SRP is $89.98 for 17 hours worth of the series. The six discs are all dual-layer, single-sided DVDs featuring the original full-frame video/English 2.0 Mono audio presentation of the show. French and Spanish subtitles are an option, as is closed captioning for the hearing impaired.

Special features on this compilation include:
  • "Play All" feature
  • Audio Commentary on the Pilot episode with Writers/Co-Creators Tracy Torme and Robert K. Weiss
  • Featurette: "The Making of Sliders"
  • Photo Gallery

"Four people just found a gateway to another dimension, but they forgot one problem...how to get back!" Join Jerry O'Connell as Quinn Mallory, Sabrina Lloyd as Wade Wells, Cleavant Derricks as Rembrant "Crying Man" Brown, and John Rhys-Davies as Professor Maximillian P. Arturo, as they cross the Einstein-Rosen bridge into wormhole after wormhole, trying to slide their way back "home." We'll be back with any further developments for this box set, so stay tuned.
