Earlier today we received an interesting email from "Mr. Internal Affairs" regarding
Sledge Hammer! Alan Spencer is asking Anchor Bay to record his commentary in real time and not edit anything out (most commentary tracks are edited for various reasons).
"Sledge Hammer!" creator has made an unusual request before recording his DVD commentary next week. He's asking Anchor Bay Entertainment, who's releasing the box set of season one this July, to record his session in real time and not to be editing after the fact in any way. Some people are wondering whether Spencer intends to push the envelope as far as the stories he tells while others think he's trying to ensure he isn't censored in this newly paranoid age of political correctness."
I called a contact at Anchor Bay, and although he wasn't aware of any request (this isn't part of his domain) he said they likely wouldn't edit the commentary track unless there was a legal reason to do so. I'm going to try and get in touch with Alan Spencer after the commentary has been recorded and see how it went. Just a reminder that Spencer will be recording commentary on 4 of the episodes in the set.
