Earlier this month, thanks to an entry at NetFlix, we
got the tip that
March 28th would be the release date for
Six Feet Under - The Complete 5th Season. HBO is preparing to announce this release formally (probably next week), and we got ahold of the early info which confirms this release date. It also shows the cover art you see. We apologize that it's so small; we'll have bigger once the studio makes hi-res art available. We like the way it indicates that this is the show's final season: "Everything. Everyone. Everywhere. Ends.," with the hearse driving off into the sunset. It's very much in keeping with the tone of the show.
Extras will include over 90 minutes of exclusive content, including 6 audio commentaries with creators and cast, as well as extensive behind-the-scenes featurettes. The price is a heart-stopping $99.98 SRP, but that's in keeping with the cost of cable-shows' TV-DVD sets compared to that of network series. Stay tuned for more details once the formal announcement gets circulated.
