A couple of weeks ago we
broke the news about the upcoming release of
Six Feet Under - The Complete 3rd Season. Now HBO and distributor Warner Brothers has released the official information for this set.
The cover art and most of the advance information we got from the catalog of Canadian wholesaler "Hip" turns out to be correct, but the most noticable thing that was incorrect was the release date. The ad placed in Hip was very specific that the planned release date was on March 15th, but something seems to have changed since that ad was put together. Today's announcement shows that the release date is going to be
May 17th.
The ad only showed a Canadian list price of course, and that CAN$119.98 SRP was correct. Based on that, we guessed that the USA list price was going to be $99.98, and it turns out we were dead-on. The 5-DVD set has the following episodes on it:
- Disc 1 - Perfect Circles / You Never Know
- Disc 2 - Another Voice / Nobody Sleeps / The Trap
- Disc 3 - Making Love Work / Timing & Space / Tears, Bones & Desire
- Disc 4 - The Opening / Everyone Leaves / Death Works Overtime
- Disc 5 - Twilight / I'm Sorry, I'm Lost
Additionally, there will be 5 Audio commentaries with Alan Ball, writers and directors on episodes 3, 4, 5, 11 and 13. Rounding out the extras is "A Birdseye View of the Third Season," an in-depth interview with show creator Alan Ball, including the original HBO trailer.
Video is 16x9 Anamorphic Widescreen. Audio starts with an English Dolby Surround 5.1 track, and continues with Dolby Surround Stereo 2.0 tracks in English, French, and Spanish. All three languages are also subtitled, plus there is closed captioning for the hearing impaired.
